Server wide rules apply everywhere, including the contracts every player accepts (Discord and Minecraft terms). Minecraft only rules sit below.

Season 10 Roleplay Law: killing, griefing, stealing, and wearing armor inside town are illegal in character. Duels, declared wars, and self-defense are lawful. Read the Season 10 Law.

General Rules11

  1. 1.Common SenseExercise common sense. Written rules supersede personal assumptions.
  2. 2.Agreements & ContractsBy joining, playing, or taking part in any part of Horizons SMP you accept and agree to these contracts in full. Breaking any of them is a violation here and gets punished on our side too — Mojang, Xbox and Discord may additionally suspend or permanently remove your account.   3. 3.Spam & AdvertisingChat flooding is prohibited. Advertising other servers or services results in a permanent ban.
  4. 4.Public Staff DisputesDisputes with staff must be handled privately through official support tickets.
  5. 5.ReportsSubmitting false or malicious reports constitutes a serious violation.
  6. 6.Loophole AbuseExploiting rule ambiguities or loopholes is treated as a direct violation.
  7. 7.Stay UpdatedBy joining the server, every member confirms they have read and will comply with all server rules.
    • A 24 hour grace period applies when a new rule is introduced or an existing rule is updated.
    • For rules announced on the Discord server, the 24 hour grace period applies only if the announcement was made less than 24 hours ago. If the announcement is older, no grace period applies.
  8. 8.Rule ScopeThese rules apply across the Horizons SMP Discord server, the Horizons SMP Ban Appeals Discord server, and the Horizons SMP Minecraft server.
  9. 9.Cursing & Wishing HarmWishing curses, divine punishment, or serious harm upon other players is prohibited.
  10. 10.Ban EvasionJoining the Minecraft server while banned, or using an alt account to dodge a ban, results in a permanent ban on all of your accounts.
  11. 11.Account ResponsibilityAccount holders are responsible for all activity on their account. Account sharing does not excuse violations.

  1. 1.Cheating, Hacked Clients & Prohibited ModsNo modified clients, cheat software, or any of the following:
    • Movement/packet timing alterations (e.g., tick-sync, timer modifications)
    • OpSec — brand spoofing mod
    • Any other identity spoofing or client brand masking
    • Freecam, camera detachment, or perspective manipulation
    • FOV modification beyond vanilla limits (e.g., FOVU)
    • Input/event thread modifications (e.g., Ixeris, threaded input polling)
    • Hitbox display, chams, or entity highlighting mods
    • Health indicators or damage display mods showing other entities' HP (e.g., Health Indicators, Player Health Indicators, Mob Health Indicators)
    • Ping equalizers or artificial latency manipulation (e.g., Ravenclaw's Ping Equalizer)
    • X-ray mods or resource packs that reveal blocks through walls
    • Client side time manipulation
  2. 2.Automation / MacrosNo bots, macros, or scripts that bypass active play.
  3. 3.Exploits / DuplicationNo exploiting bugs to duplicate items. Only string + tripwire duplication methods are exempt.
  4. 4.Lag MachinesNo contraptions designed to degrade server performance.
  5. 5.Real Money TradingPlayers may not buy, sell, or trade in game items, currency, accounts, or services for real money. Official server donations and store rewards are permitted.
  6. 6.Spear Mace DTapsSpear mace double-tapping (DTapping) is banned. The spear mace itself is a normal PVP weapon, the DTap is what gets you banned.
  7. 7.PVP StylesFirework Mace PVP and Firework Spear PVP are banned.
  8. 8.TeamingYou may only team with your own teammates and allies via the `/teams` command. Teaming with players on opposing teams or players not on your team is prohibited. You must either own a team via `/teams` or have less than 2 hours of playtime on the server to be exempt.
  9. 9.AFK KillingKilling players who are AFK (away from keyboard) is prohibited.
  10. 10.Autoclicking & Drag ClickingAutoclickers and any form of drag clicking or hardware assisted clicking are prohibited.
  11. 17.GriefingProhibited. Destroying, altering, or defacing another player's build, blocks, or property without consent is griefing. It is a server-rule violation and a felony under the Season 10 Law. Read the Law
  12. 18.StealingProhibited. Taking another player's items, blocks, containers, livestock, or crops without consent is theft. It is a server-rule violation and a crime under the Season 10 Law. Read the Law

  1. 11.Allowed ModsOnly whitelisted mods are permitted. View Allowed Mod List
  2. 12.Minecart PVPPermitted.
  3. 13.Regearing During FightPermitted.
  4. 14.Gear LimitNo restrictions.
  5. 15.Naked KillingPermitted in open PvP and lawful combat. Under the Season 10 Law, unconsented killing is murder unless it is a lawful duel, declared war, or self-defense. Read the Law
  6. 16.Third-Party ClientsNOTICE: Third-party clients such as Feather, Lunar, or Ogulniega Client can trigger the anticheat and cause false bans. This is a known, expected risk and is not treated as an offense. If you are falsely banned, please open a support ticket and our team will resolve it for you.
