Server wide rules apply everywhere, including platform terms for Discord and Minecraft. Minecraft only rules sit below.
General Rules16
- 1.Common SenseExercise common sense. Written rules supersede personal assumptions.
- 2.Toxicity & HarassmentDisrespect, personal attacks, and targeted harassment are strictly prohibited.
- 3.Hate Speech & SlursDiscriminatory language, hate speech, and slurs are strictly prohibited.
- 4.Doxxing & PrivacySharing personal or private information without consent results in an immediate permanent ban.
- 5.Spam & AdvertisingChat flooding is prohibited. Advertising other servers or services results in a permanent ban.
- 6.Public Staff DisputesDisputes with staff must be handled privately through official support tickets.
- 7.ReportsSubmitting false or malicious reports constitutes a serious violation.
- 8.Loophole AbuseExploiting rule ambiguities or loopholes is treated as a direct violation.
- 9.Stay UpdatedBy joining the server, every member confirms they have read and will comply with all server rules.
- A 24 hour grace period applies when a new rule is introduced or an existing rule is updated.
- For rules announced on the Discord server, the 24 hour grace period applies only if the announcement was made less than 24 hours ago. If the announcement is older, no grace period applies.
- 10.Rule ScopeThese rules apply across the Horizons SMP Discord server, the Horizons SMP Ban Appeals Discord server, and the Horizons SMP Minecraft server.
- 11.Cursing & Wishing HarmWishing curses, divine punishment, or serious harm upon other players is prohibited.
- 12.Threats of HarmThreats of real world violence, harm, or intimidation are prohibited. This includes statements implying physical harm, stalking, or leveraging personal information to threaten or coerce.
- 13.Staff ImpersonationPretending to be a staff member, moderator, or admin to mislead, intimidate, or manipulate other players is prohibited.
- 14.Ban EvasionAccessing the server or Discord while banned results in a permanent ban on all accounts.
- 15.Account ResponsibilityAccount holders are responsible for all activity on their account. Account sharing does not excuse violations.
- 16.Platform TermsAll activity must comply with Discord's Terms of Service, Discord's Community Guidelines, and Mojang's Minecraft EULA.
Minecraft Rules22
- 1.Cheating / Hacked ClientsNo modified clients or cheat software.
- 2.Automation / MacrosNo bots, macros, or scripts that bypass active play.
- 3.Prohibited ModificationsThe following client modifications are strictly banned:
- Movement/packet timing alterations (e.g., tick-sync, timer modifications)
- OpSec — brand spoofing mod
- Any other identity spoofing or client brand masking
- Freecam, camera detachment, or perspective manipulation
- FOV modification beyond vanilla limits (e.g., FOVU)
- Input/event thread modifications (e.g., Ixeris, threaded input polling)
- Hitbox display, chams, or entity highlighting mods
- Health indicators or damage display mods showing other entities' HP (e.g., Health Indicators, Player Health Indicators, Mob Health Indicators)
- Ping equalizers or artificial latency manipulation (e.g., Ravenclaw's Ping Equalizer)
- X-ray mods or resource packs that reveal blocks through walls
- Client side time manipulation
- 4.Exploits / DuplicationNo exploiting bugs to duplicate items. Only string + tripwire duplication methods are exempt.
- 5.Lag MachinesNo contraptions designed to degrade server performance. String dupers are limited to a maximum wideness of 5, and stacking multiple string dupers is not allowed.
- 6.Real Money TradingPlayers may not buy, sell, or trade in game items, currency, accounts, or services for real money. Official server donations and store rewards are permitted.
- 7.Allowed ModsOnly whitelisted mods are permitted. View Allowed Mod List
- 8.Spear Mace DTapsBanned.
- 9.Running from FightRunning from a fight is permitted. Tridents and Elytras are strictly prohibited during combat, regardless of whether you are fleeing or engaging.
- 10.Minecart PVPPermitted.
- 11.Regearing During FightPermitted.
- 12.Gear LimitNo restrictions.
- 13.PVP StylesFirework Mace PVP and Firework Spear PVP are banned.
- 14.TeamingYou may only team with your own teammates and allies via the `/teams` command. Teaming with players on opposing teams or players not on your team is prohibited. You must either own a team via `/teams` or have less than 2 hours of playtime on the server to be exempt.
- 15.AFK KillingKilling players who are AFK (away from keyboard) is prohibited.
- 16.No Naked KillingKilling gearless players who have no armor equipped is prohibited. However, if a player carries high-value weapons (such as netherite swords or maces) or armor comparable to or better than yours in their inventory, they count as geared and may be killed even with armor unequipped.
- If a gearless player attacks you first, you are allowed to kill them in self-defense.
- 17.Autoclicking & Drag ClickingAutoclickers and any form of drag clicking or hardware assisted clicking are prohibited.
- 18.Third-Party ClientsNOTICE: Third-party clients such as Feather, Lunar, or Ogulniega Client can trigger the anticheat and cause false bans. This is a known, expected risk and is not treated as an offense. If you are falsely banned, please open a support ticket and our team will resolve it for you.
- 19.Offensive BuildsNo hateful or grossly inappropriate builds. Hate symbols are strictly prohibited.
- 20.GriefingGriefing another player's claim is prohibited. You may freely destroy builds outside claims, provided your destruction does not alter claim terrain and stays at least 50 blocks away from the nearest claim.
- 21.StealingPermitted.
- 22.Villager ClaimingProhibited. Claiming or locking villagers for exclusive personal use (such as using ClickVillagers claiming features) is strictly forbidden and will result in punishment.
